Air fryer salmon is ‘tender and juicy’ even if cooked from frozen

Salmon is one kind of fish that cooks incredibly well in an air fryer, leaving it juicy inside with a crunchy skin.

That said, many people think it’s only possible to cook a delicious dish when the fish is super fresh, but it couldn’t be further from the truth according to food blogger, Nancy Lynn.

Sharing her recipe on the blog Confessions of a Fit Foodie, she said: “You’ll get tender, juicy, flaky salmon every time when using your Air Fryer.

“Bonus – if you are short on time, you can make frozen salmon in the air fryer without any thawing!”

What’s more, the fillets take just 11 minutes to prepare and fry in total, so it’s perfect for a quick dinner.

Air fryer salmon recipe

Start with a preheated air fryer set to 200C, then rub each salmon fillet (fresh or frozen) with olive oil and season with salt and pepper.

Sprinkle with the smoked paprika, and any other seasonings, perhaps garlic powder and herbs.

Place the two salmon fillets in the fryer then cook for seven to nine minutes, depending on how thick they are.

Open the air fryer after this time to check them and slice a little with a fork to ensure the inside is cooked.

The recipe blogger claimed that the salmon “should be flaky”, but can be returned to the fryer for one to two minutes more if required.

Once cooked, serve with lemon or lime wedges and a side of green vegetables.
