A 10-member Trinamool delegation is running to Election Commission “meshomashai” (uncle): BJP Bardhaman Durgapur candidate and MP Dilip Ghosh

Kolkata: BJP Bardhaman Durgapur candidate and MP Dilip Ghosh, in yet another offensive comment, says that a 10-member Trinamool delegation is running to Election Commission “meshomashai” (uncle). Meanwhile, Trinamool Congress has lodged two complaints to the Commission-one against PM Narednra Modi and Krishnanagar candidate Amrita Roy and second one against BJP Malda candidate Khagen Murmu for violation of MCC.

“I am amazed, what has happened that 10 people had to go to the Election Commission with a letter? Trinamool is unable to do politics on the streets, so they are running to the Election Commission and asking “meshomashai” to take steps,” Dilip Ghosh said today, calling ECI “Meshomashai” in connection with the complaint against him.

“We don’t go to “meshomashai”(uncle) now and then. Trinamool insulted many of our leaders including Prime Minister, Union Home Minister, National President JP Naddaji by saying whatever they want. We don’t run to the Election Commission for that. We do politics according to the law, we will follow the law,” Ghosh added.

“Our lawyers are looking into the matter. We will send out the reply. This is a routine matter,” Ghosh said when asked about the reply to the showcause. “My party has said that politics must be within the limits of decency,” Ghosh added.

“Ghosh commented against Mamata Banerjee’s parentage and violated MCC. He has been showcaused by ECI. Now, while talking about the matter, Ghosh attacks the Election Commission. This is again a violation of MCC. We call upon ECI’s attention on the matter,” Trinamool spokesperson Sanatanu Sen said, responding to Ghosh’s comments today.

Meanwhile, Malda District Trinamool Congress Committee has lodged a complaint with the Chief Electoral Officer-West Bengal, against BJP MP candidate Khagen Murmu over breach of the Model Code of Conduct. “Murmu’s reckless allegations against Prasun Banerjee, insinuating private meetings with government officials, lack any shred of evidence and violate electoral protocols. These baseless claims are a desperate attempt to mislead voters and tarnish Banerjee’s reputation. The Committee demands urgent action to maintain the sanctity of the electoral process,” AITC said in its X Handle.“…Without any basis or truth, Mr. Murmu has made statements in public and to the media alleging that Mr. Banerjee had a private meeting with government and administrative officers of Malda District.,” the complaint letter said.“I call upon your good office to forthwith issue a show cause notice to Mr. Murmu for committing the violations enumerated above and to take strict action against him for breaches of the MCC and the advisory issued by the ECI,” AITC said in the letter.

Another complaint was lodged by AITC against PM Narendra Modi and BJP Krishnanagar candidate Amrita Roy’s “for resorting to corrupt practices by bribing and creating “undue influences” through announcement of a new monetary beneficial scheme for the electorate.”
