Frequent flyers have slammed Delta after the airline unveiled a new cabin design, which has been branded ‘uncomfortable.’

However, while the airline insists that guests will be lounging lavishly, passengers aren’t convinced as they flocked to social media sites Reddit and X, formerly known as Twitter, to criticize the new look as they noted it looked ‘uncomfortable as hell.’

The cabin redesign, which is set to be implemented across aircrafts by 2025, features black ‘memory-foam cushions’, which are made from a mixture of nylon and wool. 

Meanwhile, the headrest will be made from an ‘engineered leather’, which is promised to provide customers with the utmost comfort. 

However, according to passengers, the new look seems like it will provide them with back aches.

However, the airline insists that the seats will provide passengers with a luxury experience. 

Delta’s vice president of customer experience design, Mauricio Parise, said: ‘This refreshed cabin interior infuses utility with beauty to create an atmosphere that feels fresh, elevated, and timeless while reflecting our customers’ evolving tastes and expectations.’ 

In addition to a seat upgrade, the cabin will feature mood lighting that represents a ‘warm sunrise.’ 

At nighttime, the cabin lighting is said to help customers feel like they are at a ‘candlelit dinner.’
