Fajitas recipe will ‘change the way you enjoy food’

Fajitas are a delightful midweek meal that can satisfy the whole family easily, while getting some much-needed veggies in the mix too.

But there’s an easier way to make them, rather than frying off your vegetables and chicken which will save you a lot of time and effort, making the meal even more of a win for your family.

User @thisisplanetfood took to TikTok to share their “fajita hack”, and it starts by popping two chicken breasts cut into strips onto a baking tray “with 1 sliced red & white onion and 1 green and red pepper”.

Then, you need to “drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle over your Old El Paso fajita seasoning and give everything a good mix”.

Bake everything in the oven at 180 degrees Celsius for 20 minutes until everything is nicely cooked through.

Then, you need to “sprinkle with a good handful of cheddar cheese and add enough mini tortillas to cover the tray”.

You should then add them “back to the oven for five minutes”, but you need to be careful that the tortillas don’t become crispy, as otherwise they won’t fold properly.

Then “leave to cool slightly” and “grab a tortilla” picking up the delicious cheesy fajita filling “without the need for utensils”.

The culinary experts also recommended you “serve with dollops of salsa and sour cream with a good squirt of lime juice and garnish with fresh coriander – and get stuck in”.

They said this way would “change the way you have fajitas forever”.

In the comments, someone said they were going to try this “right now” but others claimed they’d rather cook their chicken “first”.

“I’ve been doing this for months now, so much healthier in the oven,” another added.

“Yum! Love this dish duty saving hack too,” the Old El Paso account wrote.

Some criticised the hack, saying you wouldn’t be able to get very much filling in the wraps, but they replied: “Pick up more.”

Others tagged their pals saying they were desperate to try it.
