FBI Arrests Journalist From The Blaze on Charges Related to Jan. 6 – IJR

An investigative reporter from the conservative outlet The Blaze has been arrested over his actions at the U.S. Capitol during the Jan. 6 riot.

On Friday, video showed The Blaze investigative report Steve Baker being walked out of a building apparently by FBI agents as he self-surrendered.

Baker’s arrest sparked fury on social media:

On Tuesday, Baker posted on X, “This time, it’s really happening. Unlike the two previous threats my attorneys received from [FBI/Department of Justice] my self-surrender for alleged J6 crimes is set for this Friday morning in Dallas, TX. There is now a signed arrest warrant.”

“My attorneys have also been assured by the gov. that this will be an ‘in and out’ affair and that they have ‘no intention’ of detaining me. But, rather than issuing a simple order to appear, they seem to feel the need to give me a dose of the personal humiliation treatment,” he added.

At the time, Baker said he did not know what the charges he was facing were.

But on Friday, the criminal complaint was released showing Baker was being charged with four misdemeanor charges including: “knowingly entering or remaining in any restricted building or grounds without lawful authority,” “disorderly and disruptive conduct in a restricted building or grounds,” “disorderly conduct in a Capitol building,” and “parading, demonstrating, or picketing in a Capitol building.”
