Xiaomi 15 Pro camera specifications revealed in a fresh leak

Xiaomi 15 Pro telephoto and camera sensor details revealed

  • The Xiaomi 15 Pro is tipped to come with a 50MP camera with 3x zoom much like the Xiaomi 14 Pro.
  • The primary sensor will be a 50MP OV50K lens, which could be aided by a 50MP IMX882 3x telephoto lens. We might see another 50MP lens, probably for the ultra-wide-angle shots.
  • The OV50K is said to be a 1″ sensor. For context, the Xiaomi 14 Pro came with a slightly smaller 1/1.31-inch image sensor. Not much is known about the sensor at the moment.
  • However, earlier reports said the 1-inch sensor will be exclusive to the Xiaomi 15 Ultra only like the Xiaomi 14 Ultra.
  • The tipster on Weibo says the Sony IMX882 telephoto sensor does comparatively worse than the OV64b with regards to digital zooming but the power consumption is claimed to be good.
  • The Xiaomi 14 Pro features a Samsung ISOCELL JN1 3.2x telephoto sensor.
  • Compared to the predecessor, the telephoto has reportedly improved. “The aperture of the telephoto is also said to play a key role,” says the tipster.

Xiaomi 15 Pro: what do we know so far

Xiaomi 15 Pro is tipped to come with a 2K micro-curved display but the screen size is yet to be revealed. The phone could be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 SoC, compared to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset on the predecessor. The chipset will be manufactured by TSMC and will be based on the 2nd gen 3nm process node (N3E). The flagship is expected to come with larger camera lenses and this should result in a slight re-arrangement of the sensors.

The Xiaomi 15 Pro is expected to house an in-display ultra-sonic fingerprint sensor for security. This should offer a larger unlocking area compared to the traditional fingerprint sensor on the Xiaomi 14 Pro. The phone could house a 50MP primary camera, a 50MP ultra-wide sensor and a 50MP telephoto unit. We should learn more details about the phone soon.
