Xiaomi 14 Civi: what’s different

Xiaomi 14 Civi is the first in the series to launch in India as the brand has been keeping it exclusive to the Chinese market. With the new handset, Xiaomi has a premium mid-range phone to offer, and one that sits above its popular Redmi Note 13 series. It runs the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, the latest chipset from the flagship series.

The Xiaomi 14 Civi boasts dual 32MP selfie cameras which is a highlight in itself but the more interesting part is the design and how the two sensors take minimal space. It looks a little like the Dynamic Island mini capsule on the iPhone 15 series. The Xiaomi 14 Civi also has a quad-curve display which is a slightly curved screen with very slim bezels. The smartphone comes in three colour variants with a vegan leather back and a matte finish as well.

Xiaomi 14 Civi specifications

Xiaomi 14 Civi features a 6.55-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 240Hz touch sampling rate, 3000 nits peak brightness, Dolby Vision, HDR10+ and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection on top. Under the hood runs the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset. So far only the POCO F6 features this chipset and joining soon will be the Realme GT 6 and the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra.

The new Xiaomi phone comes with up to 12GB LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB UFS 4.0 storage. In the photography department, the Xiaomi 14 Civi features a 50MP Leica Summilux primary camera with OIS, a 50MP Leica telephoto camera with 2x zoom, and a 12MP Leica ultra-wide camera. Up front is a 32MP primary selfie camera and a 32MP ultra-wide camera.

The handset packs a 4,700mAh battery with 67W fast charging support. This seems slightly underwhelming as phones in the same price range offer a 5,000mAh or more battery with up to 120W fast charging speed. On the software front, the Xiaomi 14 Civi runs the latest HyperOS based on Android 14. You also get Wi-Fi 6, NFC, an in-display fingerprint sensor, and stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos on the Xiaomi 14 Civi.

Xiaomi 14 Civi alternatives

Xiaomi 14 Civi offers flagship-level specifications and features but at a more affordable price. It’s still a competitive price segment with some strong contenders like the OnePlus 12R, iQOO Neo 9 Pro and Vivo V30 Pro. We’ll be putting the Xiaomi 14 Civi against its rivals in different tests to find out which phone is the better option for gaming, photography, and overall performance.
