Chip Zdarsky is a grade-A jokester and sometimes–okay, always–a great comic book creator. His humor permeates his comics, but he’s also done some funny stuff outside of comics, like tutorial videos, and he’s consistently funny in his Substack.
Today was no different, as Zdarsky shared how he and fellow comics writer Gerry Duggan bid farewell to Jonathan Hickman after he signed off from the X-Men books. How’d they wish him well? They paid Rob Liefeld to wish him well anonymously.

You can check out the video here in the Substack post. To say this had me laughing out loud is an understatement.
If you want to get a better sense of who Chip Zdarsky is, I recommend subscribing to his Substack and then popping over onto the AIPT Comcis podcast and listening to our creator spotlight. It’s a good one!
