THE world’s best airline is set to launch more flights from the UK – as well as extra to Miami and Tokyo.
SkyTrax announced the award for the cream of the crop when it comes to air travel earlier this year.

Qatar Airways was given top spot for the best airline in the world 2024.
But new plans show the airline is still thinking of ways to improve and is continuing to work on optimising its own flight schedule.
From October 27, the airline plans to increase flights to London Heathrow Airport with eight daily flights and 56 weekly flights.
The city of Male in the Maldives will also be visited more frequently, with 28 weekly flights planned from the end of December.
The airline has previously flown to Male 13 times a week.
The US city of Miami and Tokyo are also to be included in the plans. From December 16, Miami will be served twelve times a week, and the Japanese capital eleven times a week.
When the news that Qatar Airways had won the best airline was announced Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive Officer, Engr. Badr Mohammed Al-Meer gave a statement.
He said: “This is a proud Qatar Airways moment and it is my honour to share this award with my hardworking colleagues.
“This award is testimony to our relentless dedication to providing unparalleled service and innovation. We look forward to more wins in the future.”
It comes as new plane seats designed to look like sofas could one day be on all airlines.
The new designs have been revealed ahead of the RedCabin Trinity Awards shortlist.
Part of the annual Aircraft Cabin Innovation Summit taking place later this year, one of the designs has been created by Optimares.
Called the SoFab seats, the new sofa-style design would be found in business class.
Other business class seats have a range of buttons to take a seat from upright, to reclined, to a lie-flat bed.
However, SoFab would have no electrical movements of mechanisms to create the bed.
Plane etiquette

RECLINING SEAT: Podcast host and etiquette expert Nick Leighton explained that you shouldn’t recline your seat if the passenger behind you is working on their laptop.
He said: “Nobody likes their laptop snapped in half.”
Before you recline your seat, it’s best to check to see what the passenger behind you is doing.
If they are on a laptop, ask before you move your seat back.
FEET: A flight attendant told The Sun: “Your boarding card tells you a number and a letter, this will be the reserved seat that you have paid for.
“Your feet, which are attached to your body, should do their best to reside within this space and stay far away from anyone else.
“If you do insist on stretching out, please make sure your feet are covered up.”
CHAT: TV travel expert Samantha Brown explained that conversations from strangers aren’t welcome, suggesting that others shouldn’t expect a chat.
She added: “I’m not a talker. Plane time is me time.”
