KOTA KINABALU: A group of cleaners got the shock of their lives when they stumbled upon a 50kg-python while doing work near Futsal UTC, Jalan Sembulan here today (Nov 28).
They were trimming the bushes there when they saw the large reptile at about 1pm.
They subsequently alerted the Civil Defence Force (APM).
Kota Kinabalu APM officer Capt Aizex Junior said a team was sent to the location after the call was made at 1.28pm.
“Our men went searching for the python in the bush and managed to catch it,” he said, when contacted.
“It took the team about 15 minutes before they could retrieve the python, about seven metres long, with a hook,” he added.
Aizex said they ended the operation at 1.49pm.
