A WOMAN claims she saw a big cat “larger than a Labrador” roaming on old tennis courts outside her home.
Annie Mitchell, 71, was looking out her window at her bird box while having lunch when she saw the “large black cat”.
She went out for a closer look and watched as it prowled around the now-closed tennis courts near her home in Kirriemuir in Angus on Monday.
Shocked Annie said: “My first thought was ‘look at the size of that cat – what a long tail’ and how big it was.
“I felt it was bigger than any cat I have seen.
“I was about one and a half bus lengths away from it.
“I went outside to get closer look and was only a car length away.
“It looked big.
“It looked bigger than my Jack Russell dog.
“I thought it was longer then a Labrador dog but not as high.

“I have not seen a cat that big before.
“It certainly was not a dog.
“It’s movement was low and prowling. It was looking for mice maybe in the field.”
In November last year, jaw-dropping footage captured the moment a “hybrid panther” was spotted stalking the Scottish countryside.
Gordon Welsh, 50, claims he spotted the animal while walking along the road near Blackdog, Aberdeenshire.
Mr Welsh, from Aberdeen, says the animal was maybe the size of a greyhound – if not bigger – and was “well solid looking”.
He reckons it was a “hybrid panther”.
And in July, a village was left on high alert after locals reportedly spotted a “big cat” prowling in a field.
