Etiquette expert William Hanson has revealed his secret to adding a bit of spice in the kitchen. The host of the hit podcast ‘Help I Sexted My Boss’ has released a series of ‘seductive’ audio clips designed to add a bit of excitement to your lunch hour.
These cheeky tales, recorded during the creation of this tantalising trilogy, combine his playful narration style with sharp wit, all delivered from the heart of the home – the kitchen. .
This exclusive footage comes after a survey of 2,000 adults found that 40% are eager to jazz up their lunch breaks, from what they do to what they eat.
Birds Eye commissioned the research and audio clips to mark the launch of its three new Steamfresh Meals – pasta and veg-based microwaveable meals for one.
Only one in ten see lunch as their favourite meal of the day, with the average adult truly enjoying their midday meal just three times a week. A mere 9% would describe their lunch as ‘exciting’, with staples like sandwiches, soup and salad being the go-to options for weekday lunches.
But when it comes to choosing what to eat, taste is the top priority for 31%, followed by ease of preparation (22%) and nutritional value (15%). However, four in ten prefer a hot lunch option.
Nearly half of adults (48%) are keen on the idea of someone else doing the cooking, with a whopping 60% agreeing that food tastes better when someone else makes it. This is according to data from OnePoll, which also found that 28% of people can’t be bothered to cook for themselves.
The research further highlighted that adults typically spend less than 15 minutes whipping up their ‘working from home’ lunch. Time is tight, as they usually take less than 30 minutes out of their day for a break.
During this brief downtime, many are either scrolling through social media (30%) or munching at their desks (27%).
Birds Eye Steamfresh’s Sophie Simms weighed in: “Let’s face it, lunchtimes aren’t always the most inspiring of mealtimes, so we really want to bring the love back for lunch, no matter how long we have to take it.”
“Our research has shown people really do want to mix things up a bit for their working from home lunches and we want to show how this is possible.”
“We’ve created Steamfresh Seductions to liven up lunch times alongside our new meals, which lock in the flavour and nutrients through the power of steaming – and William was just the perfect person to narrate these steamy short stories and, of course, make sure we eat that tagliatelle correctly.”
