Sanjay Dutt one day received the most bizarre call that informed about a will to his name with a person he never knew.
Fondly called as ‘Sanju Baba’, Sanjay Dutt is one of Bollywood’s biggest name who boasts of a loyal and large fanbase. We know stories of diehard fans who go to different lengths to express their admiration and love for the respective personality. A ” Will You Marry Me’ placard outside homes or attending every match of your favourite sportsperson, there are different stories that have come forward. But one story of a woman shocked everyone, even Sanjay Dutt himself. A woman from Maharashtra, bequeathed her property to ‘Shamshera’ actor! Believe it or not, it is true! Our eyes widened too.
Who Was Nisha Patil?
Nish Patil was homemaker from Mumbai who unfortunately passed away at 62. Sanjay Dutt received a call from police one day who informed him that he is the owner of property worth Rs 72 crore. Dutt was left astounded upon hearing the news as he had never met Nisha in his life.
Reported suggest that Patil was a diehard fan of Dutt’s prolific work. She died after battling a terminal illness. Apparently, she had written several letters to her banks in a bid too get the desired assets transferred to Sanjay Dutt. This grand gesture left not just Dutt’s family but everyone in shock. Sound unbelievable right! It definitely is. But we live in a bizarre world.
What Did Sanjay Dutt Do With It?
Sanjay Dutt was overwhelmed and moved by the grand gesture. However, he immediately clarified and chose not to claim any of the part from her will. His lawyers cleared the air that the ‘Munna Bhai M. B.B.S’ actor had no intentions of acquiring the bequeathed property. “I will not be claiming anything. I did not know Nisha and I am very overwhelmed by the entire incident to speak about it.”
His lawyer intervened shortly afterwards to assure that Patil’s pertinent heirs would receive their assets through the legal process; failing any claimants, the assets would fall under government succession law. But one thing was sure-Sanjay Dutt had won even more admiration, not just for his on-screen resilience but his integrity off-the-screen.
This incident, despite its bizarreness, goes to highlight how people can be affected by public personalities.
