Bay Staters, it’s time to find your shovels and test out your snowblowers.
Parts of Massachusetts are expected to see some snowfall this week, according to the National Weather Service’s Boston office.
The chances are going up for two-plus inches of snow for spots west of Interstate 495.
“Decent chance for accumulating snow across interior MA, especially west of I-495 Wednesday night into early Thursday,” the National Weather Service’s Boston office posted.
The highest snow amounts will be over higher elevations where temps will be coldest. Preliminary forecast
accumulations of 3 to 6 inches is possible over the Berkshires and Worcester Hills, with 1 to 3 inches across the rest of the interior.
This clipper system bringing snow to the region will deliver mostly rain near the coast. A rain-snow mix is possible along the I-95 corridor.

“No snow accums are expected near the coast,” the National Weather Service’s forecast discussion reads. “Fortunately, the bulk of the snow will begin after the Wed evening commute although the (Thursday) morning commute will be impacted.”
Then after the system, the coldest air of the season thus far is expected to arrive. Low temps could drop into the upper teens Thursday night.
