Flapjacks are a quick and easy bake which requires just a few ingredients.
However, it can be hard to nail how long they need in the oven as they need to come out when they are still slightly soft.
If you’ve ever ended up with an overly crunchy result, this no-bake recipe could be ideal.
The BBC Good Food recipe requires just a handful of ingredients.
The recipe notes said: “Craving a snack? Whip up these easy no-bake vegan flapjacks, which you can flavour with chocolate chips or dried fruit and nuts of your choosing.”
Ingredients:
150g nut butter
150ml maple syrup
Four tablespoons of plant-based milk
One teaspoon of vanilla extract
200g porridge oats
Two tablespoons of ground flaxseeds
Half a teaspoon of cinnamon
125g chocolate chips or dried fruit and nuts
Method:
Line a 20cm square baking tin with parchment paper to start.
Then, melt the nut butter, a mix of peanut and almond is ideal, in a pan over low heat with the maple syrup, milk and vanilla extract.
Once smooth, take off the heat and mix in the porridge oats, and ground flaxseed before adding in a little fine sea salt and cinnamon.
Stir in the chocolate chips, ensure they’re vegan if needed, or dried fruit and nuts.
Spoon the mixture into the tin and level out the top. Leave for 15 minutes, then transfer to the fridge to set for at least an hour.
Once set, cut into 16 squares. This flapjack will keep chilled in an airtight container for up to five days.
