We recently did a performance comparison between the Realme GT 6(review) and the Xiaomi 14 Civi (review) to find out which device delivered a better performance output. Both phones have similar starting prices, with the Realme GT 6 at Rs 40,999 and the Xiaomi 14 Civi at Rs 42,999. Let’s compare their battery performance to find out which smartphone offers superior battery life and charging speed.

PCMark test
We used the PCMark test to evaluate the time it takes for a smartphone’s battery to drain from 100 percent to below 20 percent at an 80 percent brightness level. The Realme GT 6 scored 14 hours and 45 minutes, while the Xiaomi 14 Civi scored 12 hours and 15 minutes. According to this benchmark test, the Realme GT 6 offers superior battery life.

Video streaming test
For the video streaming test, we played the same 30-minute YouTube video on both devices at 50 percent volume and brightness to measure their battery drain. The Realme GT 6 showed a 4 percent battery drain, while the Xiaomi 14 Civi showed a 3 percent battery drain. The video streaming test ended in favour of the Xiaomi 14 Civi.

Gaming test
For the gaming test, we played COD: Mobile, Real Racing 3, and BGMI on both devices for 30 minutes each at similar graphical settings to gauge their battery drain. The Realme GT 6 registered an aggregate battery drain of 17 percent (5.6 percent average), while the Xiaomi 14 Civi logged an aggregate battery drain of 21 percent (7 percent average).
The absolute battery drain for the Realme GT 6 is 1045mAh, while the absolute battery drain for the Xiaomi 14 Civi is 987mAh. The Xiaomi 14 Civi showcases impressive resilience despite relying on a smaller battery, but ultimately, the Realme GT 6 wins due to its lower drain percentage.

Charging speed
Both phones have vastly different fast charging ratings. The Realme GT 6 features 120W fast charging support, while the Xiaomi 14 Civi offers 67W fast charging support. As a result, there’s a noticeable difference in their charging times, with the Realme GT 6 taking 26 minutes to recharge from 20 to 100 percent capacity, compared to the Xiaomi 14 Civi, which takes 40 minutes to recharge the same.

Verdict
The Realme GT 6 is a superior smartphone in terms of battery performance compared to the Xiaomi 14 Civi. It offers slower battery drain over time and significantly faster charging speeds. If battery life is an important aspect for you, the Realme GT 6 is the better choice.
While the Xiaomi 14 Civi’s battery is not as resilient, we also need to keep in mind that the smartphone has a substantially lower capacity at 4700mAh. Despite its smaller battery, it offers comparable battery life to the Realme GT 6 and has an impressive charging time of just 40 minutes. If the Xiaomi 14 Civi appeals more to you, you’re not sacrificing a lot in terms of battery life and charging speeds.
