Motorola Edge 50 Fusion vs OnePlus Nord CE4: design
While the OnePlus Nord CE4’s marble-like rear panel gives it a unique look, the Motorola Edge 50 Fusion’s matte-finish back panel is more classic. It comes in two more finishes: vegan leather and vegan suede.
Both devices have a dual camera setup in the top-left corner of the back alongside a brand logo in the middle. However, the Edge 50 Fusion’s camera island seamlessly blends into the rear panel, giving it a more premium look. On the other hand, the OnePlus Nord CE4 has a more youthful and lighter vibe.
The Motorola Edge 50 Fusion has three shades: Forest Blue, Marshmallow Blue, and Hot Pink. The OnePlus Nord CE4 has only two colour options: Celadon Marble and Dark Chrome.
Motorola Edge 50 Fusion vs OnePlus Nord CE4: display
Both the devices feature a 6.7-inch FHD+ display but the Edge 50 Fusion has a higher 144Hz refresh rate over the Nord CE4’s 120Hz. Since few apps fully utilise the 144Hz refresh rate, you might not miss out on a lot.
If you plan to use your phone outdoors a lot, the Motorola Edge 50 Fusion’s 1600 nits peak brightness will be more helpful for seeing the content on the screen in sunny conditions than the OnePlus Nord CE4’s 1100 nits peak brightness.
Another thing to consider is the display type. The Edge 50 Fusion has a curved display with a pOLED panel, while the OnePlus Nord CE4 features a flat display with an AMOLED panel. Whether you like curved or flat screens depends on your preferences. However, the AMOLED panel has a slight edge over the pOLED panel, meaning the content will look better on the Nord CE4 than the Edge 50 Fusion.
Motorola Edge 50 Fusion vs OnePlus Nord CE4: performance
The OnePlus Nord CE4 has a more powerful SoC under the hood than the Motorola Edge 50 Fusion. That doesn’t mean the Edge 50 Fusion won’t be able to do all the tasks that the OnePlus Nord CE4 would. But if you’re a heavy user and like to play a lot on your phone, the Nord CE4 would be the better option. Regular users can go for the Edge 50 Fusion.
It’s also worth noting that while both offer a 256GB storage option, the Nord CE4 maxes out at 8GB RAM compared to the 12GB RAM of the Edge 50 Fusion.
Motorola Edge 50 Fusion vs OnePlus Nord CE4: cameras
The Motorola Edge 50 Fusion has a better camera setup than the OnePlus Nord CE4 for the rear and front shooters. Theoretically, the higher megapixel count on the selfie snapper and ultra-wide lens of the Edge 50 Fusion should result in better camera performance.
However, that doesn’t mean that the OnePlus Nord CE4 can’t click pictures worth posting on your social media accounts. Check out the camera performance of the OnePlus Nord CE4 in our detailed review.
Motorola Edge 50 Fusion vs OnePlus Nord CE4: battery and charging
The OnePlus Nord CE4 is a clear battery and charging department winner. It has a bigger 5,500mAh battery with support for 100W charging compared to the Edge 50 Fusion’s 5,000mAh cell and 65W charging support.
The company claims the Nord CE4 can refuel from 0 to 100 percent in 29 minutes. Motorola also claims the Edge 50 Fusion can go up to 50 percent with just 15 minutes of charge. Both devices should last a day on a single charge. And if they don’t, you can easily juice them up in a jiffy with their fast charger.
Motorola Edge 50 Fusion vs OnePlus Nord CE4: software
Both OnePlus Nord CE and Motorola Edge 50 Fusion run on Android 14 out of the box. While the Motorola Edge 50 Fusion offers a stock Android experience, the OnePlus Nord CE4 features a ColorOS 14 skin on top.
Motorola promises three years of OS updates and four years of security patches with the Edge 50 Fusion, compared to the OnePlus Nord CE4’s two years of OS updates and three years of security patches.
Verdict
Both phones offer a great return on investment thanks to their remarkable hardware specifications. However, depending on your needs, you should pick the one that best suits you.
If you want better performance, battery life, charging speed, and display quality, pick OnePlus Nord CE4. On the other hand, if you want a better camera, a brig display, and more OS updates, the Edge 50 Fusion is for you.
