which lasts longer in an extreme battery test?

Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra battery test results

  • In this test conducted by YouTuber XEETCHARGE, we see various long and short-form videos, X (app), games, video recording through default camera apps, and synthetic benchmark apps like 3DMark run on all 4 phones.
  • At about 8 hours and 10 minutes mark, the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra (with a 5,000mAh battery) powered off the first. It thus gets the last spot.
  • Next, at around 10 hours, the Google Pixel 8 Pro (with a 5,050mAh battery) shut down. Mind you it has the largest battery among the four.

  • The iPhone 15 Pro Max with a 4,441mAh battery was the next to quit at 10 hours 20 minutes. So, although it has a smaller battery compared to the rest, it lasted enough to be the second-best battery life device of the lot.
  • Finally, the winner of the race is the Galaxy S24 Ultra which almost touched the 11-hour mark. As mentioned already, it bears a 5,000mAh cell, the same as the S23 Ultra. So, perhaps the improved battery life is thanks to an efficient Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset and software optimization. As per Samsung, the phone has a 20% more efficient CPU and it could power 30 hours of video playback and 95 hours of music.
  • In terms of charging too, the S24 Ultra with a 45W wired adapter is rated to be faster compared to the rest. The presence of 15W Qi wireless charging and 4.5W reverse wireless charging support should also be reassuring features to have.

Per the on-paper specs, the Galaxy S24+ shouldn’t be too behind the Ultra and the vanilla S24 also has a bigger battery than its precursor. We will have to wait for their battery tests to know how well they do.

Correction: The times were wrongly mentioned for the Pixel 8 Pro and S23 Ultra. Now, corrected.
