Xiaomi 14 Civi vs Vivo V30 Pro: Design
The Xiaomi 14 Civi features a consistent design across all colourways, each distinguished by unique materials and elements. While the Cruise Blue version showcases a dual-tone dark and light blue finish, the Shadow Black model offers a matte black finish. The Match Green variant has dual-tone styling, a marble-like finish, and vegan leather. The phone includes a triple camera setup with LEICA branding in a circular housing at the top-left corner of the back.
The Vivo V30 Pro comes in two colourways: the Andaman Blue shade has a water waves-like texture, while the Classic Black has a satin-like material. Moreover, the metal finish on the sides contributes to the strong appearance and feel. The camera island sits on the rear, in the upper right corner, with two sections to the island. The upper part of the island houses Zeiss branding and three camera lenses, while the other position has an Aura Light flash.
Xiaomi 14 Civi vs Vivo V30 Pro: Display
The Xiaomi 14 Civi’s front sports a quad-curve display with slim bezels and a dual camera setup cutout in the top centre. On the other hand, the face of the Vivo V30 Pro features curved edges and a centre punch-hole camera cutout.
The Vivo V30 Pro has a larger screen and slightly higher resolution, making it ideal for those who prefer a bigger display. On the other hand, the Xiaomi 14 Civi provides higher peak brightness, making it easier to use in sunny environments and the advantage of LTPO technology for better power efficiency, as it adjusts the refresh rate depending upon the content.
Xiaomi 14 Civi vs Vivo V30 Pro: Performance
While out testing, the MediaTek Dimensity 8200 SoC under the hood of Vivo V30 Pro scored 948,361 points on AnTuTu. While we’re yet to test the Xiaomi 14 Civi, the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset-powered POCO F6 (review), the same SoC you get with the Xiaomi 14 Civi, scored over 1,500,000 points on AnTuTu.
This significant difference highlights that the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 is more powerful and suitable for high-end, demanding applications. At the same time, the Dimensity 8200 offers a good balance of performance for everyday tasks and moderate gaming.
Xiaomi 14 Civi vs Vivo V30 Pro: Cameras
In the camera department, the Vivo V30 Pro has the numbers for the rear setup. However, the Xiaomi 14 Civi has a dual front camera setup compared to the Vivo V30 Pro’s single selfie shooter.
The Xiaomi 14 Civi, with Leica lenses, provides versatile photography options with its cinematic HDR support and telephoto zoom. The Vivo V30 Pro, with its Sony sensors and Zeiss optimisation, offers potentially superior image processing and higher-resolution ultrawide and front cameras.
While reviewing the Vivo V30 Pro, we were impressed by the device’s camera performance, as all three cameras perform well. However, we’re yet to see the Xiaomi 14 Civi in action, so stay tuned for our detailed review.
Nonetheless, the Xiaomi 14 Civi and Vivo V30 Pro both offer advanced camera setups with high-resolution sensors and specialised lenses and should satisfy your photography or videography needs.
Xiaomi 14 Civi vs Vivo V30 Pro: Battery and charging
The Vivo V30 Pro has a slight edge over the Xiaomi 14 Civi in both battery capacity and charging speed. Its 5,000mAh battery can offer a bit more usage time, and the 80W fast charging capability allows for quicker refuels.
However, that doesn’t mean the Xiaomi 14 Civi’s battery life and charging speed are dull. The Xiaomi 14 Civi’s 4,700mAh battery and 67W charging should provide a remarkable battery life and fast charging speed.
Xiaomi 14 Civi vs Vivo V30 Pro: Software
Both the Xiaomi 14 Civi and Vivo V30 Pro offer decent software experiences with their respective custom skins, HyperOS for Xiaomi 14 Civi and Funtouch OS for Vivo V30 Pro, based on the latest Android 14. Each brand promises three years of updates, which is a decent commitment.
However, there are some pre-installed apps on the Vivo V30 Pro, and you can’t delete native Android or Vivo apps. On the other hand, Xiaomi lets you remove unwanted apps more easily on the Xiaomi 14 Civi. You can even delete the native Xiaomi apps, but not all of them.
Verdict
Both devices offer remarkable hardware specifications under the hood. The decision between the two may come down to personal preference and needs.
If you want a bigger and finer display quality, better rear camera setup, superior battery capacity, and charging speed, the Vivo V30 Pro will suit you the best. However, if you want a more powerful SoC, a better front camera setup, and a cleaner software experience, get the Xiaomi 14 Civi.
Regardless of which device you pick, you will be likely satisfied with their performance.
