The Proteas Women stormed into the T20 World Cup final after beating Australia by six wickets on Thursday.
A brilliant batting display powered South Africa into another T20 World Cup Final, with Anneke Bosch’s inspired 74* knocking out the tournament favourites.
For the second time in a row, the Proteas Women’s team will play in a T20 WC final through to Sunday’s showpiece Dubai. Coming into the match, South Africa were underdogs given their record against the Aussies.
Australia won nine of the ten T20 Internationals (T20I) against the Proteas including a 19-run victory in the final of last year’s T20 World Cup.
There was a sense of belief when South Africa won the toss and opted to bowl first. That proved to be the right choice as the Proteas made an excellent start, forcing Australia to take their time in a rebuild from 18/2. Eventually, the defending champions only managed to post 134 in their 20 overs.
Anneke Bosch and skipper Laura Wolvaardt controlled the run-chase to give the Proteas Women’s team a memorable win against Australia.

The Proteas will play the winner between West Indies Women and New Zealand Women. The two teams play on Friday with South Africa waiting for the winner.
The T20 Women’s World Cup final will be played on Sunday(20 October) at 16:00.
