Everyone remembers the terrifying accident that Amitabh Bachchan suffered on the sets of Coolie. The incident was so terrifying that Amitabh Bachchan was declared ‘clinically dead’ for sometime. His fans prayed with whole heart for his well-being. His daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai Bachchan too once suffered an accident on the sets. It wasn’t as severe as that of Amitabh Bachchan, but it was pretty serious.
All about Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s accident on sets of Khakee
On the sets of Khakee, in which Amitabh Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai shared the screen space, the actress got hit by a car. The team was shooting near Nashik and a stuntman lost control of the car. It rammed into Aishwarya Rai’s chair and she suffered severe injuries. Akshay Kumar was also on the sets and he jumped in to save her. In one of the interviews with Rediff, Amitabh Bachchan has spoken about the accident and shared that for two days he could not sleep. He revealed that Akshay Kumar rescued Aishwarya Rai and Anil Ambani provided his private plane to transport the actress back to Mumbai to get the medical help. Big B revealed that there was no night landing facility available in Nashik thus they had to seek special permission from Delhi to land the plane at the military base. The seats of the aircraft had to be removed.
Explaining the situation, Amitabh Bachchan revealed to the entertainment news site, “The car hit her and took her down a crevice and slammed into a cactus plant. Akshay Kumar pulled the car out and extricated her. We rushed her to hospital. We had to go through terrible crowd management problems.” He also mentioned that Aishwarya’s bone was lacerated with cactus thorns. Tusshar Kapoor too was on the sets of Khakee when the incident took place.
