When Aishwarya Rai Bachchan had revealed what bugs her about the film industry: ‘It’s the crab mentality’ | Hindi Movie News

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan started her career in the movies, straight after she won Miss World. The actress has made it on her own so far and always done things on her own terms. She was instantly popular, ever since she did her first film ‘Iruvar’ with Mani Ratnam and since then, there was no looking back. But the actress has had her share of hard times and struggles as well. For instance, there was a phase where she was removed at once from many movies. Aishwarya had appeared on Simi Garewal’s chat show and was asked about the one thing about the industry which bugs her.
She instantly broke into a giggle as soon as she heard the question and said, “Now is the opportunity for me to say.” She further added, “I dont know if it holds true only for this industry. It’s more of a general statement. But the crab mentality. all the crabs are in the basket and there’s one out there climbing out, taking all the trouble, making the effort and instead of encouraging, helping, they just pull that one out and say, ‘stay with us, crawl with us. You ain’t going nowhere’, and that’s a sad attitude to have.”
After a few years, she had again appeared on Simi’s show, where the actress had opened up on why she was removed from five movies which she was doing with Shah Rukh Khan at that point in time. Simi pointed out that ‘Veer Zara‘ was written for Aishwarya. The actress reacted and said that it’s not in her nature to ask people why. If they wanted to give an explanation, they would have, said Aishwarya.
