Water skier, paraglider killed in separate incidents in Victoria

A man has been killed at a water skiing event in Victoria.

The man, whose age has not been provided, suffered catastrophic injuries on the Murray River in Moama during the Southern 80 water skiing meet on Sunday morning.

Paramedics were called to the scene about 10am but the man could not be revived.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are investigating the man’s death and have asked anyone with information or footage of the incident to come forward.

Southern 80 organisers have cancelled racing on Sunday.

Meanwhile, a man has died while paragliding west of Melbourne Sunday morning.

He could not be revived after crashing into a paddock at Colac West about 9am.

He is yet to be identified.

“The exact cause of the crash is yet to be determined at this stage,” police said in a statement.
