THIS is the bizarre moment a man scaled a lampost in Glasgow to save a seagull after it became trapped in a light.
Jack Kelly, 21, was enjoying a night out with his colleagues in the city centre over the weekend when the group spotted the struggling bird.
The animal appeared to be stuck in a tree-like light structure on Sauchiehall Street.
And after having some drinks, the chef’s friends joked that he should climb up and rescue the bird in distress.
With the alcohol giving him some “liquid courage”, Jack quickly climbed up the huge structure to set the seagull free.
Speaking to STV News, Jack said: “One of my coworkers came in with this look of fear in his face, saying ‘There’s a seagull stuck in a lampost.’
“And he jokingly said, ‘Go get it!’.
“And I was drunk, and I was like, ‘Right, I’m going to get the Seagull’.”
I just thought I’d give a bash. I had to do some mental, acrobatics and stuff like that

The feat was even more impressive when Jack revealed that he had no previous climbing experience.
He added: “I just thought I’d give a bash.

“I had to do some mental, acrobatics and stuff like that. But in hindsight, it was very stupid.”
Jack’s friend Iain Douglas filmed the moment on his phone and it quickly went viral on social media.
The clip quickly racked up more than a thousand views with users flocking to the comments to praise Jack for his brave actions.
One person wrote: “What a guy. I hope everyone on the street bought that man a beer”.
Another added: “Heros truly don’t wear capes.”
It’s been nice to get the positivity, but I’m no hero

Someone else wrote: “This dude is literally Spiderman”.
While a fourth posted: “Impressive climb up that pole.”
And a fifth chimed in: “Quiet heroes are out there every day. It’s good to remember that.”
But he told STV News that he feels like the situation has “been out of proportion.”
He said: “Oh, it’s been quite, you know, out of proportion in my opinion, to be honest you.
“Someone, you know, DM’d me asking if we can get married I was like, ‘what the…’ I mean what am I meant to do here, eh?
