New Delhi – Volkswagen India has introduced the highly anticipated Virtus GT Line and Virtus GT Plus Sport, both designed to align with customer aspirations while boasting an enhanced aesthetic appeal. This launch is complemented by an upgraded feature set for the Taigun GT Line and a new Highline Plus variant across the brand’s India 2.0 models.

With the Virtus now recognized as the leading sedan in its category in India, Volkswagen aims to sustain its momentum in the competitive automotive market. The Virtus GT Line and GT Plus Sport are priced at INR 14.07 lakh and INR 17.84 lakh (ex-showroom), respectively, highlighting the brand’s commitment to enhancing customer excitement.

Ashish Gupta, Brand Director for Volkswagen Passenger Cars India, emphasized the importance of adapting to changing market trends. He remarked, “The sporty sedan has been revitalized to appeal to customers who seek distinctive aesthetics and performance.”

The Virtus GT Line seeks to make the renowned ‘GT’ badge more accessible. It features a 1.0-liter TSI engine available with both 6-speed manual and automatic transmissions. The updated package includes a range of modern features such as an electric sunroof, a 20.32 cm digital cockpit, and a 25.65 cm VW Play touchscreen infotainment system with wireless connectivity for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Additionally, safety is prioritized with six airbags and a five-star GNCAP rating.

The exterior of the Virtus GT Line showcases blackened LED headlamps, a sleek black front grille, and 16-inch black alloy wheels, while the interior boasts red ambient lighting and stylish black leatherette upholstery.

On the other hand, the Virtus GT Plus Sport targets those who desire both high performance and striking design. It is powered by a more robust 1.5-liter TSI EVO petrol engine, offering options for 6-speed manual and 7-speed DSG transmissions. Key features include electric front seats, ventilated seating, and an advanced infotainment system equipped with an amplifier and subwoofer.

Volkswagen has also enhanced the Taigun GT Line with a more premium feature set, which now includes a digital cockpit and other luxurious additions. The new Highline Plus variant provides customers with an appealing price point, starting at INR 13.87 lakh for the Virtus and INR 14.26 lakh for the Taigun.

This strategic repositioning reaffirms Volkswagen’s dedication to delivering value while meeting the evolving demands of Indian consumers in a competitive automotive landscape.
