Vivo Y28s specifications, features

The Vivo Y28s has a 6.56-inch HD+ display with 1612 × 720 pixels resolution, a 90Hz refresh rate, 269 PPI, 840 nits brightness, and a waterdrop notch for the selfie snapper. Connectivity options include 5G SA / NSA, Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS, and a USB Type-C port. There is a 5,000mAh battery with 15W fast charging support.

The Vivo phone is equipped with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for security and an IP64 rating for water resistance. The handset is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 SoC with ARM Mali-G57 MC2 GPU. The chipset is paired with 8GB LPDD4x RAM and 129GB eMMC 5.1 native storage but this is further expandable via a microSD card.

The phone runs on Android 14-based Funtouch OS 14 custom skin out of the box. The Vivo Y28s features a 50MP primary camera with f/1.8 aperture and LED flash and a 2MP secondary camera with f/2.4 aperture. There is an 8MP shooter for selfies and video chats.

What’s new on the Vivo Y28s?

The Vivo Y28s is a successor to the Vivo Y27s. One major upgrade is the addition of a 5G network over the predecessor which had 4G LTE only. This is especially impressive considering the price range. However, the display size is cut down from 6.64-inch to 6.56-inch. The resolution is also HD+, which is a downgrade from an FHD+ panel.

The MediaTek Dimensity 6300 enables 5G support and replaces the Snapdragon 680 SoC. The fast charging speed is downgraded from 44W to 15W. However, the battery capacity is the same: 5,000mAh.
