Vivo V40 and Vivo V40 Lite prices
The Vivo V40 is priced at €599 (approx Rs 53,600) and will be available starting around early July globally. On the other hand, the Vivo V40 Lite costs €399 (approx Rs 35,700) and is already available in the region.
What’s new on the Vivo 40 series?
Vivo V40 Lite: Vivo V40 Lite gets a bigger 6.78-inch display compared to a 6.67-inch screen on the Vivo V30 Lite. The phone also gets slightly curved edges and narrow bezels to fit more content on the screen. The 5G version of the Vivo V30 Lite came with a Snapdragon 695 chip compared to the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1. This should result in notable performance gains.
The Vivo V30 Lite featured 64MP + 8MP + 2MP triple cameras compared to 50MP + 8MP + 2MP triple camera units on the Vivo V40 Lite. However, the front camera appears to have been downgraded from a 50MP unit on the predecessor to a 32MP unit. Lastly, the battery capacity is also bumped from a 4,800mAh cell to a larger 5,500mAh cell.
Vivo V40: On the other hand, the Vivo V40 has identical specifications to the Vivo V30. We get the same 6.78-inch screen and the chipset is also the same: Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 SoC. The camera setup is also the same, we get dual 50MP sensors on the back and a 50MP shooter on the front for selfies. The battery capacity is bumped to 5,500mAh cell from 5000mAh unit.

The Vivo V40 Lite sports a 6.78-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with 2400X1080 pixels resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, 1300nits local peak brightness, 388 PPI, and a 100 percent DCI-P3 colour gamut. The handset is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 paired with Adreno GPU for graphics. It runs on Android 14-based Funtouch OS custom skin out of the box.
The chipset is paired with 8GB RAM and 256GB UFS 2.2 storage, which is further expandable via a microSD card. There is 8GB extendable RAM support. Connectivity options include 5G, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, and a USB Type-C port for charging. The handset measures 164.36 × 74.75 × ~7.7mm and weighs 188 grams.
Moving to cameras, the Vivo V40 Lite features a 50MP primary camera, an 8MP wide-angle lens, and a 2MP macro unit. We get a 32MP shooter on the front for selfies and video chats. The phone houses a 5,500mAh battery with 44W fast charging support. We get an in-display fingerprint sensor for security and an IP64 rating for water and dust resistance to some level.

However, it is powered by a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset paired with Adreno GPU for graphics. The chipset is coupled with 12GB RAM and 512GB native storage, which is further expandable via a microSD card.
In terms of cameras, you only get dual sensors on the back but are powered by Zeiss. There is a 50MP primary camera with f/1.88 aperture and OIS and a 50MP ultra-wide camera with an f/2.0 aperture. There is a 50MP shooter on the front for selfies and video chats. Connectivity options include 5G, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, and a USB Type-C port for charging.
