Vivo T3 Pro and Vivo T2 Pro compared: what are the differences?

The Vivo T3 Pro has been launched in India as the successor to last year’s Vivo T2 Pro. The device comes with some notable upgrades over its predecessor in several hardware configuration departments, as well as, some new AI features.

The Vivo T3 Pro comes with a matte finish in two different materials and shades. With the Sandstone Orange, you get a vegan leather rear panel with a golden frame, while the Emerald Green has a glass back with a green frame and golden frame for the camera module. 

On the other hand, the Vivo T2 Pro has a glass back with a glossy finish. The New Moon Black colour has a plain design for a simple and sophisticated look, while the Dune Gold has a patterned finish. 

The Vivo T3 Pro has an IP64 rating for protection against dust and water splashes, while the Vivo T2 Pro doesn’t have any IP protection.

Both phones have a 3D curved AMOLED panel with Full-HD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. However, the Vivo T3 Pro has Schott Xensation protection against scratches and wear and tear, whereas the Vivo T2 Pro doesn’t have any display protection. Moreover, the Vivo T3 Pro also supports a higher nits peak brightness that will offer a better experience while watching HDR content than the Vivo T2 Pro. Apart from this, you can expect a fairly similar display quality from both phones.

The Vivo T3 Pro has a slightly more powerful SoC at the helm than the Vivo T2 Pro. In our testing, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 SoC outperforms the MediaTek Dimensity 7200 SoC on every benchmark platform. 

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 scored 8,27,231 points on AnTuTu, and on Geekbench, it achieved 1,142 points in the single-core test and 3,119 points in the multi-core test. On the other hand, the MediaTek Dimensity 7200 got 7,28,534 points on AnTuTu, with 1,190 points in the single-core test and 2,681 points in the multi-core test on Geekbench. 

Vivo T3 Pro vs Vivo T2 Pro: cameras

Both phones have a 16MP front camera but offer different purposes in the rear camera department. The Vivo T2 Pro has a 64MP main shooter compared to the Vivo T3 Pro’s 50MP snapper, meaning the former’s pictures will be more detailed than the latter. However, the T3 Pro has an 8MP ultra-wide lens, ideal for wide-angle shots, while the Vivo T2 Pro has a 2MP depth sensor that adds depth to the subject and blurs the rest of the image. 

Vivo T3 Pro vs Vivo T2 Pro: battery and charging

The Vivo T3 Pro has a bigger 5,500mAh battery capacity and supports a faster 80W charging speed than the Vivo T2 Pro’s 4,800mAh cell with 66W charging support. Thus, you can expect a better battery backup and faster refuel time from the Vivo T3 Pro compared to the Vivo T2 Pro. 

Moreover, the Vivo T3 Pro also supports 7.5W reverse charging, while the T2 Pro doesn’t have this feature. 

Vivo T3 Pro vs Vivo T2 Pro: software

The Vivo T3 Pro comes with FuntouchOS 14 based on Android 14, while the T2 Pro runs on Android 13-based FuntouchOS 13. Both phones will get two years of major OS releases and three years of security patches. This means, the T3 Pro will get updates until Android 16, while the T2 Pro will only get Android 15. 

Moreover, the Vivo T3 Pro also gets some AI features for photography, while the T2 Pro doesn’t have any AI features. The T3 Pro has an AI Photo Enhance feature for clearer images and an AI Erase tool to remove unwanted objects from a photo. 

Verdict

Overall, the Vivo T3 Pro offers considerable upgrades over the Vivo T2 Pro in almost all the hardware specifications departments. It has a better SoC, larger battery size, faster charging speed, longer software support, display protection, and an IP rating over the T2 Pro. Given the price difference is negligible, the Vivo T3 Pro makes a better buy.
