Vikram Bhatt Spills Beans on Actresses’ Vanity Clash Over Lipsticks and Eyeshadow Shades: ‘If They Aren’t Comfortable…’

Vikram Bhatt, the mastermind behind Bloody Ishq, shed light on an experience where he found himself dealing with a clash between two leading ladies on set, all because of matters related to their egos.

In a recent conversation, renowned director Vikram Bhatt shed light on experiencing heightened levels of egoism during filming sessions. Specifically, he noted disagreements among female lead actors, which unfortunately disrupted the smooth flow of the production process. This scenario reaffirms the age-old notion that two actresses can find it challenging to maintain a friendly relationship.

During a chat with News 18, Vikram Bhatt took a trip down memory lane, recounting an incident between two leading ladies. Without access to a makeup van, he had the unique experience of working on a number of films where two actresses starred. Bhatt highlighted an amusing facet of such instances, where the actresses were seemingly indifferent to each other’s appearance, yet frequently showed curiosity in each other’s outfit choices and hairdo.

Vikram shared an interesting secret – on these film sets, the actresses would slyly change their eyeshadow and lipstick shades, aiming to outshine each other. Unfortunately, these little competitions resulted in continuity problems in the film. Vikram said, “We noticed everything but we let go because after a point of time, we realized as directors and producers that we need to make the actors comfortable in their skin and if they aren’t comfortable, they cannot act. And if it takes the right shade of lipstick to do it, so be it (sic).”

The director breathed a sigh of relief as his latest project, ‘Bloody Ishq’, wrapped up smoothly without any hurdles involving the actress Avika Gor. This successful collaboration marks their second venture together, after the hit ‘Balika Vadhu’.

Avika received compliments for her humility and commitment during her work, illustrated by her experiences on the sets of 1920 and Bloody Ishq. She wore a blood-soaked outfit for a considerable part of the movie, yet she never demanded a costume change or tweaks to her looks. For him, this act alone shows her unwavering dedication towards acting, prioritizing it over her fame’s image. He believed such a quality was hard to come by.
