Mumbai, August 19: French automaker Citroen on Monday announced the launch of an updated C3 Aircross hatchback with an automatic gearbox and a range of new features in the country. It’s worth noting that the hatchback was offered previously with manual transmission options only. With prices starting from INR 6.16 lakh (ex-showroom) for the manual variants, the brand has yet to announce the variant-wise price of the automatic variants.
Aesthetically, the Citroen C3 is identical to the previous model. The hatchback now gets projector LED headlamps for the top-spec Shine trim, replacing the previously offered halogen units. On the inside, the overall design remains the same. The Aircross C3 hatchback now has a 7.0-inch fully digital instruments display, automatic climate control and automatic AC on the Shine variants. For safety, the hatchback comes with six airbags, electronic stability control, a hill hold assist, a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), and a rear parking camera with sensors. Mechanically, the Citroen C3 Aircross hatchback gets the same – 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated petrol and 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engines. The former makes 82 bhp and 115 Nm of peak torque, while the latter produces 110 bhp and 205 Nm of peak torque. Though the naturally-aspirated unit continues to get a 5-speed manual, the turbo-petrol now can be had with a 6-speed automatic transmission with a 6-speed manual.
