To boost the EV range on the global level, the top car maker Ford is gearing up to introduce an all-new electric SUV in the European market. It has been reported that the unveiling date has been set for July 10.

E-SUV’s Platform

The electric SUV is likely to use VW’s MEB platform. Some reports suggested that it will be manufactured at the same VW plant in Cologne where VW ID cars are being developed.

If rumors are to be believed, the upcoming offering in the EV segment is likely to be sold under the nameplate Ford Capri. Again, the brand has not shared any official details or confirmed the name as of now.

Expected Nameplate

To make it simple for the customer, the brand has referred to the model as ‘sports crossover in March 2022. Since then, the vehicle created a buzz across social media platforms and hooked interested ones about its launch.

Design

Talking about the design, it will hit the market with a boxy design, featuring a fully LED headlight setup, paired with LED DRLs. Despite being spotted with heavy camouflage, the model hinted about the decent-sized cladding at the sides, while the rear section will be complemented by trending connecting taillight.

Battery and Power

Under the hood, there are high expectations that the company might use the same powertrain option as the European Ford Explorer. Customers can expect a single motor setup trim, which will be equipped with a 77-kWh battery pack.  There might be a dual motor variant as well, featuring a 79-kWh battery, producing a maximum power of 330 bhp.
