The Janhvi Kapoor-starring movie Ulajh made Rs 5.50 crore nett in four days, according to the trade website Sacnilk, while the Ajay Devgn-Tabu starrer Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha took in Rs 7.75 crore nett till its first Monday. For a long time, the opening Monday receipts for these two highly anticipated Bollywood films are the lowest.
Ulajh, which also starred Gulshan Devaiah and Roshan Mathew and was directed by Sudhanshu Saria, made over Rs 5 crore at the box office. Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha‘s figures, particularly on the first Monday, have taken the world by surprise. It will be difficult under the current circumstances to reach double digits within the first week.
Comparatively speaking, Ulajh was released on fewer screens than the Neeraj Pandey film. For the record, Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha was launched on 2000 screens, but Ulajh had 750 screens on its opening day.
