The 24-year-old girlfriend of former New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick, 72, is “officially done” with DoorDash after claiming a damaged item sliced open one of her fingers.
Former Bridgewater State University cheerleader Jordon Hudson blasted the food delivery service in an Instagram post after a glass bottle of Schweppes tonic water cut her finger.
“A DoorDash driver left a broken glass bottle on my porch, in the dark,” Hudson wrote on her Instagram story. “I sliced my middle finger open on both on said bottle in which resulted in needing stitches.”
A member of the DoorDash Support team wrote a generic apology and refunded the budding entrepreneur Hudson with $73.22 in DoorDash credits.
“We sincerely apologize for the issue with your order,” the member of the support team wrote while claiming her new credits will be “available immediately and can be applied to future orders.”
The eight-time Super Bowl champ’s girlfriend was not impressed with how DoorDash responded to her issue so she praised the company’s direct competition in the same post.
“@ubereats would never do me like this,” Hudson wrote.
DoorDash responded with a more personal touch only after Hudson shared her grievances with her 28,000 Instagram fans.
“We believe every customer deserves VIP treatment, no matter who they are, and we let Jordon down,” according to a statement from a DoorDash representative shared with Us Weekly. “No one should go through this, and we’re horrified Jordon was hurt. We’re reaching out to Jordon directly to help make things right.”
The injury came shortly after the couple traveled to Nantucket and seemingly enjoyed some of the holiday festivities in the area.
Hudson started dating Belichick in early 2023 after the coach split with his longtime girlfriend Linda Holliday following 16 years together.
The duo with a 48-year age gap have been in the public eye for some time but didn’t make their red carpet debut until last week when they attended the American Museum of Natural History’s 2024 Museum Gala in New York City.
The coach, who is currently in talks with the University of North Carolina for the college’s vacant coaching job, was heavily criticized for dating someone old enough to be his granddaughter but an insider told Page Six that Belichick “couldn’t care less about the age difference” because he “appreciates Jordan for the woman that she is.”
Belichick has taken on a variety of broadcasting gigs since going separate ways with the Patriots in January. He’s reportedly “very surprised” that he hasn’t been contacted by NFL teams like the Jets, the Saints, and the Bears, who have already fired their head coaches this season.
