Tyla has had social media users amused after she mistakenly confused a music artist with an Olympic athlete.
The South African singer was quizzed by Vogue magazine after she performed at the Prelude to the Olympics party earlier this week.
The Olympics takes place in Paris from 26 July to 11 August.
TYLA TRENDS OVER OLYMPICS FAUX PAS
On the eve of the sporting event, Tyla performed at the star-studded Prelude to Olympics party on Thursday, 25 July, at the Fondation Louis Vuitton in Paris.
The 22-year-old performed her famous hits like Water, Jump, and Thata Ahh.
Following her performance, Vogue quizzed the outspoken singer about the sporting event.
When asked which athlete she was hoping to see at the Olympics, Tyla responded: “Sabrina Carpenter. She’s killing it right now, so I’m excited to see her.”
On social media, fans found the singer’s mix-up amusing yet endearing.
It’s not the first time Tyla has made an innocent slip-up.
In March, the award-winning star was stopped for a picture by US congresswoman Nancy Pelosi at a Grammys afterparty.
Reflecting on the “awkward” moment, she told People: “I didn’t know who she was, honestly, but I think she may have known because she asked to take a picture with me, so I was like, ‘OK, cool.’
“She held my hand, and I was like, ‘Are you sure we should hold hands?’ Because I didn’t know. I was kind of feeling a bit tight, but she was like, ‘Hold my hand, hold my hand.’ It was cute.”
CHILLIN WITH CHARLIZE THERON
Meanwhile, Tyla got to spend time with another South African entertainer, actress Charlize Theron.
The Benoni-born screen star was one of the hosts of the Olympic party. The duo posed for pics together.
Tyla also mingled with celebs like tennis star Serena Williams, basketball player LeBron James, actress Zendaya, singer Mick Jagger and US Vogue Editor Anna Wintour.
