Undoubtedly a key player when fit, Dolly has not been able to stay injury free enough to assist the team. The former Bafana Bafana winger only played eight times all season for Chiefs. In those appearances, he failed to find the back of the net, while laying one assist. Dolly injured himself in a game against Golden Arrows, a victory before the Soweto Derby against Orlando Pirates. That was just three games into his gradual come back from a long-term layoff.

Dolly has had an injury ravaged season

The injury Dolly suffered is a fractured toe, which has seemingly brought an end to his season. It was thought to have also brought the curtain down on his Chiefs career, with reports the two parties failed to agree on reduced wages. But then there were reports that , the club management may had changed their minds. Those quickly seemed to be unfounded, however.

Now according to iDiski Times, Chiefs and Dolly are still at a crossroads.

According to the publication, Dolly finds himself in the exact same situation as his friend Khama Billiat did at Chiefs. The club are reportedly thinking about the prospects of offering the left-footed star a new deal. This deal, however, would come with a sacrifice on his wages. The former Montpellier star is reportedly earning R17.4 million from his deal at Amakhosi. His new terms would be significantly reduced, according to reports.

AmaZulu and Cape Town City waiting on Chiefs decisiom

Now the same publication claims that, should Chiefs and Dolly fail to come to an agreement, there are options. Both AmaZulu and Cape Town City are touted has options for the player. How they would afford anything close to his wages, remains a mystery, however.

Would it be wise for Chiefs to keep a 31-year-old Dolly, who is now injury prone? Or is it better to release him and use his huge wages to sign some quality players? Let us see your comments below Amakhosi fans!
