Trump Reportedly Planning to Sue ABC’s David Muir in Stunt

Puck’s Tara Palmeri published a deep dive into Donald Trump’s “brain” this week, based on sources close to the former president, detailing his ongoing obsession with his debate with Vice President Kamala Harris that most polls found he lost – overwhelmingly. Trump is still so enraged, in fact, he is planning to sue one of the debate moderators, according to the report.

Palmeri began her Thursday article by reporting on Trump’s fixation with the ongoing scandal surrounding Olivia Nuzzi and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Palmeri wrote that Trump was so interested in the details of the alleged sexting relationship that he called Kennedy to ask if it was real and if “they’d engaged in anything more than the swapping of “demure” nudes.” Palmeri noted that Nuzzi is “the star New York Magazine reporter who recently inspected his ear” during a recent sitdown interview.

She then goes on to note that Trump-world continues to discuss whether or not to do a second debate with Harris. “Indeed, despite Trump’s public proclamations that he’s through with debating, having already “won the debate” in his own mind, the debate debate is not over inside Mar-a-Lago. Numerous Republican allies have been pushing for a do-over, especially after Harris accepted a CNN invite for an October face-off. And Trump appears to be doubting his initial instinct to walk away from the battlefield,” Palmeri writes, adding:

I’m told that Trump is back to asking advisors if he should reconsider.
Trump, of course, is still stewing over what he perceives was unfair treatment during the first debate, especially at the hands of ABC World News Tonight anchor David Muir, whom he has told people he plans to sue, according to two sources with direct knowledge. (On what grounds it’s unclear, but it would certainly be for publicity, much like his lawsuit against George Stephanopoulos.)

He’s also still stewing over Bret Baier and Brit Hume’s conclusion that he lost his debate against Harris, and seems unable to relinquish the all-consuming sense of iniquity that Democrats were able to swap out their nominee.

Trump has been insulting Muir publicly since the debate, even taking jabs at his hair. “They kept screaming at me. I said, Why are you screaming? I’m saying to myself. I’m looking. I always liked him. I’m not going to watch him anymore. I’m not going to watch him because he’s not legit. What he did, I’m not going to watch him. And his hair’s not as good as it used to be, you know,” Trump fumed at a rally two days after the debate.

Trump has since slammed Muir as a “foolish fool” and pushed the baseless claim that his ratings have dropped since the debate.
