Former President Donald Trump spoke at two rallies in Pennsylvania on Wednesday. During the second one in Reading, he clearly had seen enough of David McCormick –the former hedge fund CEO running for senate in the state.
McCormick spoke at the beginning of the rally and then about 45 minutes into his lengthy remarks, Trump invited McCormick back on the stage – just as he did in earlier in the day at their rally in Scranton.
“David, I know you just spoke. Just come here. Stay, like for two seconds, because nobody wants to hear you right now. Just come up,” Trump joked during the rally in Reading.
“But we got to get this guy in office,” Trump followed up, getting back on script.
McCormick then quickly took the mic and said, “Thank you, Mr. President. All right. It all comes down to the Keystone State right here. Right here.” McCormick is locked in a tight battle with Sen. Bob Casey (D-PA) in what is quickly becoming one of the most expensive U.S. Senate races in U.S. history.
During the Scranton rally, McCormick made a quick speech about his wrestling days and how he “wasn’t the best wrestler,” but could always win in the third period with guile.
Trump’s rallies on Wednesday mostly featured him railing against Vice President Kamala Harris who he called “a horrible person,” “a liar,” a “radical left Marxist” and “not a smart person.”
“I don’t want to be nice. Somebody said, ‘You should be nice sir, women won’t like it,’” Trump said in Scranton to applause. “The women want safety.”
Trump also scored a viral clip that the Harris campaign shared online as he ripped into wind energy. “The wind is bullshit. I’ll tell you, it’s horrible. The windmills aren’t wind,” Trump said.
