Travel experts share how to visit 30 cities in 55 days for just £1,600 | Travel News | Travel

If you’re dreaming of a year filled with travel but need to stick to your annual leave allowance, then good news!

The flight experts at Jack’s Flight Club have found the best way to use Britons’ annual leave in 2024, using 25 days off to visit 30 cities in 55 days on a series of amazing trips abroad to places like the United States and Italy.

The deal finders have come up with a clever plan that lets you use 25 days of annual leave along with UK bank holidays to explore Europe including Italy, Switzerland, Germany, the Netherlands and France as well as the US.

Plus, this series of holidays won’t break the bank as you’ll spend just £1,605 on a year’s worth of travel including your return flights and train tickets.

The first trip Brits could take this year with minimal time off is over the Easter holiday period, using only eight days of annual leave for a 16-day, non-stop tour of 11 cities across northwest Europe.

While some stops are short, smart planning with early trains and a focus on major cities will ensure holidaymakers see as many sights and new countries as possible in just over a week.

Over the May and August bank holidays, you can take just four days off work for each trip and enjoy nine-day holidays to the US, Italy and France.

In May, you’ll visit New York, Baltimore, Chicago, Philadelphia and Washington. Then, in August, you’ll explore Milan, Venice, Bologna, Florence and Pisa at the start of the month and Marseille, Toulon, Cannes, Nice and Monaco at the end.

For the Christmas period, you’ll need to take five days off work for a 12-day holiday in Switzerland.

If you’re in Scotland, you get an extra day off as there’s an additional bank holiday on January 2.

You’ll travel through Geneva, Laussane, Fribourg, Neuchatel and Bern.

The total cost of this year-long city-hopping adventure is less than £1,700.

This includes return flights to all locations in both the US and Europe, as well as train fares between the cities you’ll visit. That’s a great price for so many different places.

The days you will need to take off work:

  • Take these days off work: March 25 – 28 and April – 5 (eight days of holiday allowance). You’ll have a total of 16 days off (March 23rd-April 7th)
