Andreas Pereira insists he is happy at Fulham following summer speculation about his future at the west London club.
The former Manchester United midfielder has two years remaining on his contract at Craven Cottage and has been a key figure for coach Marco Silva.
Pereira, who has now returned to the Brazil national team, was subject interest earlier in the summer, however it is expected he will stay at Craven Cottage. Asked about his future, he told The Athletic: “That’s something I have to wait until the last day of the transfer window. I’m very happy here. My family is happy as well. But of course I have ambitions. We will see I’m happy here, Marco always speaks to me and that’s important to me.”
Fulham have seen other key departures this summer, including Joao Palhinha and Willian, who were particularly close to Pereira.
“It’s a shame (Willian) is leaving,” he said. “Two of my best friends left, Willian and Joao. I’m lucky I have Rodrigo (Muniz) with me (laughs). But no, we make new friends of course, but I will miss Joao and Willian a lot.
“The group is very good. The atmosphere is very good inside the training. We are like a family.”
Fulham suffered a 1-0 defeat at Old Trafford on Friday night, but Pereira took positive encouragement from the performance.
“We controlled a good part of the game,” he added. “It’s always a difficult game. But it means we are pushing the level of the club up, if we’re fighting and challenging against big clubs, like Man United, that play to win trophies. That’s a good sign for us.”
