Thistle do!
Hearts have struck a deal to sign Partick Thistle left-back Harry Milne.
Jambos boss Neil Critchley has been eager to bolster his defensive options in the January transfer window.
And it’s understood the Championship Jags have accepted a six-figure offer for Milne, 28.
A number of clubs were tracking the ex-Cove Rangers defender who has scored four goals in 22 appearances this season.
But Hearts have finalised talks over the weekend.
Milne will now undergo a medical on Monday morning and all being well put pen to paper on an 18 month deal with a further one-year option.
Celtic looking for loans
Brendan Rodgers admits it’s now more likely to be LOAN deals on deadline day, after missing out on top targets.
SunSport revealed Celts were interested in ex-Leicester star Kelechi Iheanacho, who’s currently at Sevilla.
But negotiations hit a snag.
Slovakian forward David Strelec has also been linked along with Brondby ace Mathias Kvistgaarden.
Rodgers conceded that the mos tlikely way to get any of those options in would be on loan. He said: “I would think so, I would think so.
“I think that to get the one that we would want for that longer term, if it’s not there, then I don’t want to just bring in anyone just for the sake of it. I’ll always look from within.
“There’s no point in bringing in someone if they’re not the right fit.
“So it might be more down that route, but we’ll wait and see what tomorrow evening brings.”
Content Cowie
Ross County manager Don Cowie is more than pleased with the squad at his disposal and doesn’t envisage many incomings on transfer deadline day.
Speaking after the 6-0 loss to Rangers, Cowie said: “I have no complaints with the result in terms of how it finished. Now it’s about us moving on and getting ready for the run-in.
“I think we are in a good place in terms of the squad size. Because we don’t play until two weeks’ time, a couple of players that are injured will have a good chance of being available.
“That adds to the group we’ve got already.
“Maybe, something might happen, because you just never know. At the same time, if nothing happens I’m really happy with what we’ve got.”
We’ll be happy Hoops this window says Rodgers
Brendan Rodgers insists he won’t fall out with anyone at Celtic on transfer deadline day.
The Hoops boss wants a new striker, left-back and midfielder before the window slams shut at 11pm tomorrow but he won’t get stroppy if signings don’t get done
He said: “The club knows my feelings, they know why I came back.
“I’m here to enjoy my time at Celtic, not to fall out with myself and do all the things that sometimes I maybe didn’t do the first time.
“But the demand is still there to improve the squad.
“We have to. We have to make sure that there’s constant improvement.
That’s been clear.
“But I don’t need to fall out with anyone over it.
“Everyone knows what it is we want to do at the club and that’s us all.
“I’m hopeful that we can do that.
“I don’t expect it to be hectic, but I would hope that we could come out of this window stronger. And that’s always been the plan.”
Robin can be Propper player for Gers
Dutch football legend Jaap Stam insists Robin Propper can have a lasting success at Rangers.
The defender has taken plenty of flak since his move from FC Twente – particular for performances in domestic games – but in recent weeks has looked more solid.
But compatriot Stam, who has watched him in action recently, believes he can come good and make an impact at the club thanks to his leadership qualities.
He told BoyleSports: “I’ve seen Robin Propper playing in Holland and now at Rangers, he did very well at Twente for several seasons and decided to take a big step.
“I think technically he can handle the move to Scotland, but the intensity and physicality of the game is much higher in Scotland than in Holland.
“He will need to get used to that and find that rhythm, it can be hard for players but he is a good defender. He is a very positive player and is a leader in the dressing room. I really hope he can have lasting success at Rangers.”
Jota emotion
It was a return to remember for Jota as he marked the first appearance of his third Celtic stint with a late goal against Motherwell.
The winger originally joined the Hoops on loan in 2021 and then returned on a permanent deal a year later.
He moved to Saudi Arabian side Al Ittihad the following summer for £25m but the move didn’t work out and he barely played, eventually leaving the club for Rennes at the start of this season.
But Ligue 1 didn’t offer much respite and the Portuguese ace made just nine appearances before being made available for loan.
He sealed a return to Celtic this week and came on as a sub against Motherwell this afternoon and bagged the third goal in a 3-1 win.
Jota burst into tears after scoring and said: “It’s such a happy moment for me to come back to the team and to deliver as well.
“And to celebrate with these amazing fans because they really deserve it.
“There’s been some difficult moments with ups and downs.
“And I just feel like I’m back home and I couldn’t be happier than this.”
