A TOP doctor at a luxury spa chain used by celebs has been struck off over an affair with a patient.
Dr Simon Berrisford, 57, was in charge of anti-ageing treatments at Champneys, whose clients include Brad Pitt, Naomi Campbell, Victoria Beckham and Kate Moss.
Berrisford obtained her telephone number from her medical records then began sending her texts of a “personal nature”.
She later worked with Dr Berrisford, the resident medical officer at Champneys’ Tring resort in Herts.
He provided her with painkillers and sedatives for insomnia.
After a bitter split, she told the General Medical Council he had pushed her during an aggressive outburst of temper — which he denied.
Berrisford kept a secret stash of powerful prescription-only drugs in a storage cabinet and also had a data stick containing the names and confidential details of 1,000 patients.
A tribunal in Manchester found Berrisford, of Warrington, Cheshire, guilty of serious professional misconduct.
The prestigious resort was launched in 1925 and stays can cost around £1,500-a-night.
