Tony Forbes, the father of the late South African rapper AKA, recently opened up about his thoughts after watching his son’s assassination which was caught on CCTV.
AKA – real name Kiernan Jarryd Forbes and his friend celebrity chef Tebello ‘Tibz’ Motsoane were shot and killed outside Wish on Florida restaurant on 10 February 2023. The duo’s cold murder was also captured on CCTV.
In a recent interview on Within With Hazel, Tony Forbes said he feels better having seen that AKA did not suffer before he took his last breath.

“I feel better having seen it [the CCTV footage] because I wanted to know the circumstances; I wanted to see his last moments. I take a little bit of comfort in knowing that he didn’t suffer. It went very quick,” Tony said.
“Just before he died, he greeted a friend and had a smile on his face, so he died happy. If I didn’t see it and other people saw it, it would have troubled me,” he continued.

Tony also shared that Lynn, AKA’s mother told him that their son came into her dream and encouraged her to watch the CCTV footage.
“She [Lynn] didn’t want to watch the video. But, I think it also helped her in a way… I think it’s something we had to see,” Tony said.

Tebello ‘Tibz’ Motsoane’s father, Sylvester Motsoane also recently got candid about the tragedy of losing his son, The Citizen reported. Sylvester was reported to have shared that his late wife Ryhab Niniwe Motsoane who died a few months after Tibz died missed her son tremendously until she died.
“My wife has never been the same since the death of her son. That bubbly person, joking and doing so many things…she was just a person who would do the housework, go into her room, and say I want to go and rest. There’ll never be a single day where she’s not saying ‘I miss Tebello,” Sylvester was quoted as saying.
