Kush Shah has concluded his 16-year tenure on the renowned sitcom Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, where he gained prominence as Goli Hansraj Hathi.
In an unexpected development, Kush Shah, who played Goli in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, left the popular sitcom. Kush Shah expressed gratitude for their outpouring of affection as he bid the audience farewell. The makers also introduced the new actor in the new video.
The show’s makers shared a heartfelt video on YouTube where Kush Shah discussed his early ‘TMKOC’ experiences. Highlights from the actor’s tenure as Goli were shown in a video montage that traced his growth as an actor throughout the years and featured clips of him dancing and having fun on set. Kush Shah said, “When this show started when you and I first met, I was very young. You have given me a lot of love since then. And this family has given me as much love as you have given me. I have made a lot of memories here. I have enjoyed a lot here.”

The video created a storm on social media. Many users expressed their disappointment with another replacement. One of the users wrote, “No one can ever replace our ‘goli beta masti nhi’.” Another user said, “Dheere dheere sab badal denge lekin yeh show nahi khatam hone waala.” The third user said, “Kush Shah as Goli is legend and irreplaceable His comic timing is impeccable in show. But he is going to study acting in New York. So definitely happy for him but going to miss him as Goli Best of luck for future Kush. The fourth one said, “This show has lost its charm long ago. Old characters and episodes were pure gold.”
Asit Modi complimented Kush, pointing out that he has been a mainstay of Gokuldham society since he was a little boy when he was spotted cutting a cake with the actors of TMKOC. Kush thereafter shed a tearful expression and pledged to make everyone proud. Introducing the new Goli and reminiscing on his 16-year journey as ‘very beautiful,’ he remarked
“Remembering your love I take your leave from this show. But yes, only I, Kush Shah, take your leave. Your Goli will remain the same. The same happiness, the same laughter, the same mischief. An actor might change in Taarak, but not the character, ” he concluded.
Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is one of the longest-running sitcoms in India. The Gokuldham Co-operative Housing Society is the setting of the series, and its diverse residents are the main subject matter. Ther show stars Dilip Joshi, Sunayana Fozdar, Balwinder Singh Suri, and Monaz Mevawalla, along with others.
