Now her grandmother is taking the brute to court in a bid to get compensation for the youngster.

It’s believed Tannahill has had his assets frozen while lawyers launch the legal action at the national personal injury court.

The girl was just eight weeks old when she was left in his care after her mother died in August 2021 from ovarian cancer.

Last night, the gran, who can’t be named for legal reasons, said: “My grandaughter was robbed of her mum and now she has been robbed of her own future.

“A civil action is the only way to ensure her ongoing care needs are met.”

Richard Pitts, of Digby Brown Solicitors, said the legal action was in its early stages but the firm was “committed” to ensuring the little girl has a future that “is as positive as possible”.

He added: “What happened to her was horrific.”

Kilmarnock Sheriff Court was told X-rays showed the child had one rib and two skull fractures that were “non-accidental injuries”.
