India’s one of the highest-paid actresses started her journey in the film industry with modelling. At the age of eight, she became a child model and appeared in a couple of advertisements. Early in her career, this actress gained recognition with a television commercial for the soap Liril and modelled for various other brands and products. In 2005, she made her runway debut at the Lakme Fashion Week for designer Suneet Varma and won Model of the Year at the Kingfisher Fashion Awards. The actress from Bangalore shifted to Mumbai at the age of 21 to live her dreams as modelling was not the only thing she wanted to do. In 2006, she gained recognition by featuring in the music video for Himesh Reshammiya’s song “Naam Hai Tera” for the album Aap Ka Surroor.

Soon, she began receiving offers for film roles and made her acting debut in 2006 as the title character in the Kannada film Aishwarya.
