Much More Needed
At the launch of ASER 2024, private equity-investor-turned philanthropist Aashish Dhawan minced no words in his keynote address. While commending the gains, Dhawan underlined the need for much more progress in the education sector. He pointed to the roadblocks faced by Indian entrepreneurs despite government policies, adding that much more time would be needed to catch up with China. The ASER panel discussion also saw former advisor to the PM, Amarjit Sinha, speak at length about the progress over the years, but conceded that more needs to be done. Sharing Stage
Former Uttarakhand CS and chairman of UCC rules panel, Shatrughan Singh, took stage on Tuesday as the code came into effect. While he steered the state’s UCC from day one, he also praised his colleagues. He particularly singled out social activist and panel member Manu Gaur. Singh said Gaur must be credited with writing of the code and its rulebook line by line.
