Looking to book a staycation but concerned about the price? A new ranking has named the UK’s most affordable winter breaks.
The team at InsureMy rated city destinations around the UK to find the cheapest spot for a last-minute winter mini-break.
They looked at the average price of hotels within the city centre, the number of cheap restaurants and the cost of transport.
Unsurprisingly, London was the most expensive destination in the UK for a staycation with Winchester not far behind.
But where’s the cheapest staycation hotspot for a winter break?
Blackpool topped the ranking with an average nightly accommodation cost of £106. The seaside resort also has plenty of affordable restaurants.
A coastal break might not sound like the most appealing destination in winter but the Lancashire city has plenty of indoor attractions.
Visit the city’s iconic Tower Ballroom for a night of dancing and entertainment or head to Madame Tussaud’s to see the waxworks.
