The Office Spin-off Confirmed but There’s a Twist

The Office is a beloved sitcom that helped actors like Steve Carell and John Krasinski launch their careers. It was also one of the only reasons the streaming app Peacock was able to get off the ground. With its continued popularity, it may not be a shock to some fans that another series is in the making that has close ties to The Office. This new show will most definitely try to use that popularity to skyrocket.

According to We Got This Covered, although this show will not be a reboot, some unexpected characters will return. Many fans can now breathe a sigh of relief knowing that nobody will be trying to remake The Office. However, this show will take place in the same universe as Dunder Mifflin. It will also have the same documentary crew that followed the cast of the original show. However, this time around, the crew will be following employees at a dying newspaper.

Can The Office Spin-off Surpass Steve Carell’s Show?

Fans seem genuinely excited about this spin-off, even if Steve Carell does not make an appearance. “I did see The Office is getting a spin-off series that they announced recently, but idk if it involves Jim,” tweeted one fan. “I wasn’t interested in the office reboot/spin-off/whatever you want to call it until I found out it takes place in a newspaper, if you want to know anything about my personality,” said another.

Unfortunately, there is no official title for this series as of yet. However, fans do know some of the actors who will be leading the series. Domhnall Gleeson from About Time, Ex-Machina and Sabrina Impacciatore from The White Lotus has been confirmed.

This will be an interesting cast, to say the least, but they have huge shoes to fill. The Office is loved by many TV fans, and Steve Carell really put the show on his back. Can this new series be just as funny? Only time will tell, as fans everywhere are definitely interested.
