Did You Know Kapil Shifted His US Tour Dates For Rajiv Thakur To Star on IC 814?
In a recent chat with a media house, Rajiv Thakur shared that Kapil Sharma made several changes in his US travel plans to accommodate the shooting schedule of his web series. Thakur expressed his thanks towards Kapil, talking openly about how the comedian’s actions inspired him to join the Netflix project.
Talking to India Today Rajiv said, “It’s all thanks to Kapil that I managed to do the show. The series team asked for my dates in June last year, which were already with him for our America tour. This is why I decided to say no but when Kapil got to know about it, he encouraged me to take up IC 814 (sic).” He further added, “He told me, ‘Tu series kar, hum show push kar denge (you do the series, we will push the show)’. And that’s how our show was postponed to July. I had already committed to him, so I would have rejected the show, but he pushed me, and I am thankful for that. This is what true friends do, isn’t it? (sic).”
Rajiv shared how the entire team of Kapil Sharma’s Show has a symbiotic relationship, always boosting each other’s morale. Recalling Archana Puran Singh’s reaction post watching the show, he said she was overjoyed and believed he truly deserved the acclaim. Kapil, always going an extra mile, juggled between shooting and watching the show, and wasted no time to reach out to Anubhav Sir. With an expression of joy, Rajiv told how uplifting it was to receive such affirmative responses from his co-workers.
On social media, many people, especially on Twitter, have expressed their dissatisfaction using hashtags like #BoycottNetflix, #BoycottBollywood, and #IC814. Their frustration stems from the filmmakers’ decision to rename characters, using names like ‘Shankar’ and ‘Bhola’ for terrorists. They believe this is an attempt to protect certain individuals, causing unease among the public. However, the situation was brought under controal after Netflix India issued a new disclaimer for the series which read, “For the benefit of audiences unfamiliar with the 1999 hijacking of Indian Airlines Flight 814, the opening disclaimer has been updated to include the real and code names of the hijackers (sic).” stated Vice President Shergill of Netflix India.
