The Bold and the Beautiful is one of daytime TV’s most popular soap operas. Yet, like many soaps, it’s not without its criticisms. The writing for the show has been panned by fans for being boring and predictable. The writers tried to pull a shocking twist on Friday’s Aug. 16th episode with Bill Spencer and Luna Nozawa. Unfortunately, the twist ended up gaining more negative than positive attention.
For the past few months, Bill believed he was Luna’s father. After reconnecting with his ex-lover, Poppy Nozawa, he learned he could be the father of her daughter. A DNA test proved that the publishing tycoon was Luna’s dad, much to Poppy’s shock.
Bill wasted no time in moving Poppy and Luna into his house, and the three became a family. But their world was shattered when Poppy is arrested for Tom Starr and Paul “Hollis” Hollister’s murders. Poppy’s arrest reopened the question of Luna’s paternity after Tom’s letters indicate he could be her dad.
Needing answers, Bill had another DNA test performed. This time the results showed that Luna wasn’t his daughter. As Bill comforted a distraught Luna, he was taken by surprise when she kissed him.
The Bold and the Beautiful Fans Disgusted by Bill and Luna Kiss
If The Bold and the Beautiful wanted attention, they certainly gained it after Friday’s episode. Bill and Luna’s kiss was a trending topic on social media. As expected, the lip-lock is generating controversy. On Reddit, fan blasted the show for the intimate scene between former the father and daughter.
I thought Luna not being Bill’s daughter would open up a potential RJ/Luna/Will love triangle…But GOOD GOD I could not have conjured up this fresh hell.

We shouldn’t normalize this kind of behavior. That’s disgusting.
While Bill and Luna’s kiss was deemed gross by most fans, the controversy has sparked intrigue in the storyline. The writers seems to be turning Luna from a sweet, innocent girl into a villain. Speculation is that she’s Tom and Hollis’ murderer and framing her mother for the crime. Since her mother almost ruined their chance at a luxurious lifestyle, it’s up to Luna to save, at any cost.
